The closest airport to every US national park

The 10 closest airports to each park’s main entrance are included on each of our National Park pages. 

However, we decided to create a table that would enable us to find all the closed major airports to each national park easily during the planning stage of our road trips.

Notes on the table

  1. Straight-line calculations were used to calculate the “nearest airport”. The driving directions used for this analysis were not actual.
  2. As you can see from the table above, there are hundreds of airports that were left out of this ranking. 

The focus here is only on airports that are considered to be “Large” or “International”.

Where is the nearest airport to Zion National Park?

There is a small to the medium airport nearby that serves the national park: St. George Southwest Regional Airport (SGU). There is a toll road of 47 miles, and there is a freeway of 61 miles.

Las Vegas International Airport (LAS) is the nearest major airport to Las Vegas. It is located 172 miles away, and it does charge a toll for the journey.

Which airport is closest to Shenandoah National Park?

Virginia’s Shenandoah National Park is reachable via Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). 

The distance between the park’s headquarters and its uppermost corner is around 60 miles/one hour.

Death Valley National Park’s nearest airport?

Death Valley is located approximately 100 miles/1.75 hours away from the Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas, which is the closest airport to the Death Valley area.

Additionally, flights in and out of Las Vegas are typically much cheaper than anywhere else, making it the closest airport to the National Park.

Where is the closest airport to Yosemite National Park?

Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT) is the closest airport to Yosemite National Park, located 114 miles away. 

It is important to keep in mind, however, that if you are looking for a There are two airports in the vicinity of Yosemite that are larger and more widely available. 

San Francisco International (SFO), 170 miles away, and Norman Mineta International (SJC), 160 miles away, and 3 hours away.

Where is the closest airport to Grand Canyon National Park?

We nearly always fly into Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas when we visit the Grand Canyon, which is located 280 miles/4.25 hours away. 

It is much cheaper to fly to Las Vegas than anywhere else in the world, so we use this airport instead of one that is closer to home. 

It is also worth noting that if you want to fly into Flagstaff Pulliam International Airport (FLG), which is a little over a one-hour drive from the Grand Canyon.

Where is the nearest airport to Park City, Utah?

From the center of Park City, UT, Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is just 45 minutes away by car. As one of the largest airports in the world. 

SLC is one of the largest in the world, but there are smaller regional and municipal airports nearby that provide boarding passes to major airlines such as Delta.

United or American, which are just a few minutes away.

Where is the closest airport to Badlands National Park?

As far as airports are concerned, Rapid City Municipal Airport is the closest one to Badlands National Park. 

There is a visitor center in the southern White River Visitors Center 54 miles away, and the easternmost center is. Located 68 miles away (Ben Reifel).
